A Company or a Family? or Both?

There have been a innumerable amount of publications and speeches on tricks of management and how to stay friendly with your employees but not their friends.  Laugh but don’t laugh too hard, ask about their family but don’t ask too much; and the list goes on and on and on.  At Bizodo we are truly a family.  Made up of a small team but everyone not only undertstands what their primary role is but also respects the roles of others.

We have our weekly meetings around the pool table or Chachi’ couch (Jonathon’s couches for the bigger meetings), but you can really sense that there is no overbearing sense of a meeting “enforcer”.  Everyone is free to offer ideas and each of those ideas will be brought in, discussed and analyzed to try to fit with the grand strategy of Odo.  This may not seem organized but it has truly been crucial for the development of Odo.  Sometimes it is twice as daring to stop a certain path and regroup and restart but sometimes that is what is the best for the company.  It takes a lot of courage from a programmer to realize that after a week or so but an even larger sense of courage to KNOW that it is what is best for the company.

As we continue to grow, we admittingly play a couple of less games of pool, and do at times have closed doors days consisting of possibly a twinkle of a hello or a goodbye, BUT rest assured the values that we built up together on late Thursday night pizzas or “voluntary” saturdays or what other challenges we have overcome, we truly have become a family (whether that like it or not!  (haha).

Not to mention, Odo is so friggin lovable, what is not to love!  Odo stuffed animals coming soon!  Claim yours today in the comments.
